This information will help you to choose a financial adviser that best suits your needs. It will also provide some useful information about JLT and the regulatory environment in which we operate.

How is JLT regulated by the Government?

JLT is a Qualifying Financial Entity (QFE) licensed and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority.

You can obtain information about financial advisers from the Authority. You may also report information to the Authority about JLT and its advisers. Our Financial Service Provider number is FSP34047 and you can check our status on the Financial Service Providers Register at www.fspr.govt.nz.

What sort of advisers are JLT advisers?

JLT’s advisers are QFE advisers which are similar to Registered Financial Advisers (RFA) with regard to the type of products they can give you advice on.

As a QFE, JLT is licensed to take responsibility for its advisers and to ensure that they exercise due care, diligence and skill when providing financial advice to you. JLT’s QFE license means that our advisers do not have to be individually registered or authorised to give you advice on the insurance products available through us.

JLT’s advisers can provide personalised advice about a wide range of insurance products, other than investment-linked insurance contracts as defined in the Financial Advisers Act 2008.

What should you do if you have a problem or complaint?

If you have a problem, concern, or complaint about any part of our service, please inform your JLT adviser, or alternatively contact our Complaints Officer at feedback@jlt.co.nz so we can try to resolve the problem promptly and fairly.

We are a member of the independent dispute resolution scheme operated by Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL). This facility is available to individuals and small businesses who wish to pursue a complaint against us. Full details of how to access the FSCL scheme can be obtained on their website www.fscl.org.nz. Under the scheme we have 40 days to respond to your complaint. If you are not satisfied by our response, you may refer the matter to FSCL by emailing info@fscl.org.nz or calling FSCL on 0800 347 257.
