- Lucinda Laxon – Bloodstock Manager
Born and bred in Cambridge, Lucinda has grown up in the racing industry and enjoys following her parents’ many horses on the racetrack.
Following completion of a Science Degree in Sports Science and Exercise, at Massey University, Lucinda worked at an equine vet clinic in Matamata before spending two years in Hong Kong. Lucinda then completed an internship at Kentucky Equine Research in America before returning to New Zealand and joining JLT Bloodstock.
Lucinda has an active role in the Thoroughbred Industry being a committee member of the Cambridge Jockey Club.
Lucinda has completed her Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and is a Senior Associate CIP of the Australian and New Zealand Insurance Institute.
- Jane McAlpine
Jane joined the JLT Bloodstock team in 2006.
Jane grew up with horses and has been a competitor in show jumping, eventing and dressage for 20 years. Jane currently competes in eventing and show jumping.
Prior to working in the insurance industry Jane honed her skills working in the UK and Australia with eventing and thoroughbred horses. Jane also held the position of foreperson at a leading New Zealand racing stable.
- Charlie Beckett
Charlie has a great interest in horses. She has worked for some of the best trainers in England, France and New Zealand. In doing so, she has gained valuable knowledge and interest in the Thoroughbred industry.
Since returning to NZ to settle, Charlie has worked for Matamata Veterinary Services for nine years and TRAC Racing Matamata / Matamata Racing Club for seven years.
Charlie events her retired Group One winning Thoroughbred Kristov.
Charlie has and continues to build sound relationships with all of our clients, underwriters and is known for paying attention to detail and prompt service standards.
- Rhiannon Lattin
Rhiannon has built her skills over a wide range of industries from the dairy board to the hospitality trade, across legislation editing to working at a stud farm.
Rhiannon worked in an administrative role for Windsor Park Stud which gave her extensive experience with the Thoroughbred breeding industry. As a horse owner and having ridden and competed her Lusitano for many years, Rhiannon is well aware of both the pleasures and pitfalls of horse ownership.
Rhiannon is confident in being able to provide excellent relationship management along with providing results in a timely manner.
- Mikaela Eagles
Mikaela Eagles joined the JLT Bloodstock team in 2017.
After graduating with a National Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Mikaela joined the team at Hamilton Veterinary Services in their equine and small animals divisions. Mikaela’s experience working for a large specialist equine hospital brings a great amount of knowledge to our team.
Mikaela is a motivated, hard worker who is always keen on learning new skills.
